Joe Bloggs Race into F1 History with Lewis Hamilton
20 Jul 2007
Racing from unknown to superstar in just three months, 2007 is already Lewis Hamilton's year. With podium finishes in every Grand Prix to date, alongside sensational victories in Canada and the USA, the 22-year old from Stevenage is already the youngest ever driver to lead the Drivers' World Championship.
Joe Bloggs Jeans spotted Lewis's huge potential at a young age and the brand supported him with sponsorship throughout his early years. In Hamilton's first major sponsorship deal, Joe Bloggs Managing Director Kashif Ahmed remembers, 'Lewis's talent was clear to see from an early age. We knew this was a young man with massive potential and obvious star quality, so it was a great opportunity to support such a hot prospect. We all wish Lewis well for the remainder of the F1 season.'
A driving obsessive since before his teens, Lewis has been tipped for the top all the way through his career. Ron Dennis, the McClaren team boss who worked with motorsport legends like Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, recognised his raw talent at just 13: 'There was something there - his expression, his self-belief and a confidence devoid of arrogance.'
In only his debut year, Lewis Hamilton is already challenging for the F1 Drivers Championship - victory at the end of the season will surely guarantee him a place amongst the sport's all-time greats.
